Most recently, Smith spent the last eight seasons as Drexel's coordinator of basketball operations. With the Knights, Smith served as the director of the Fairleigh Dickinson Basketball Camps and oversaw film exchange, which included editing and breaking down opponent game tape. During that time, he worked a season as the assistant director of basketball operations (2001-02) before being promoted to an assistant coach for the 2002-03 campaign. Smith previously worked at FDU under head coach Tom Green. "I also love the fact that Winston further entrenches our staff into the high school and AAU programs in our home state." Prior to Drexel, he spent time as a member of longtime FDU head coach Tom Green's staff. Smith came to FDU after spending eight seasons on the men's basketball staff at Drexel University. Smith helped guide the Knights to a 10-win turnaround, an NEC Championship and the team's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005. Winston Smith rejoined the Fairleigh Dickinson coaching staff last season and immediately had a major impact.
